Affordable Skincare Favorites
When my skin is in need of gentle, simple, yet effective skincare, I tend to reach for my more affordable items to aid in the healing and repair process. Aside from the price, I love that affordable skincare is often more accessible. Finding quality ingredient lists from lower-priced items can sometimes be a challenge, but once you find the products that work for you, they can be a skin game changer!
3 oz / $20.00 USD
Jordan’s Plié Cleanser is one of my favorites because it is so versatile in terms of functionality and usage. I typically reach for this as a makeup removing cleanser because it does a beautiful job of removing makeup, while still leaving my skin feeling comfortable upon removal. The thicker consistency becomes oil-like as you massage, and it feels amazing on the skin. After a long day, this treatment is a great way to wash the day away. Aside from its makeup removing capabilities, I love this as a first cleanse in the morning if my skin is feeling a bit irritated or dry. I’ve also mixed Plié with an acid and applied the mixture as a mask, and I was left with glowy, soft skin. For the price, you really can’t go wrong!
12 oz / $10.99 USD
The Cerave Hydrating Cleanser is a newer find for me, but since purchasing, I’ve used it at least once a day. I originally bought this with the intention of using it for a few days while my skin healed from a bout of over exfoliation, but I ended up sticking with it because I fell in love with what it did for my skin. When I use it, I’m consistently left with skin that looks alive, healthy, and hydrated. I love it as a precursor to an acid, because I feel it leaves my skin with a protective barrier of sorts. I also love that I can purchase the cleanser at virtually every drug store in my area - definitely a bonus!
4 oz / $29.00 USD
Sometimes I forget how much I enjoy this product because it works so nicely that I don’t have to worry about it doing its job. Without fail, I wake up to more even-toned, soft, and less textured skin. I’ve never experienced any irritation with this BHA, and I feel it’s gentle enough to use a few times a week. It’s simple and it just works for me!
8 oz / $9.59 USD
The Heritage Store Rosewater Spray has been a new, but very fast favorite of mine. I’ve used this mist to soothe my skin when irritated, to set my makeup, to lightly hydrate my skin, and as a last step after applying an oil. I love how simple the formulation is, and since it is so affordable, I don’t feel bad about misting whenever my skin needs a pick-me-up!
3.3 oz / $21.00 USD
I’ve gone through phases of Korean Beauty, but the Cosrx Snail Essence has stayed in my collection through it all. The consistency is slightly sticky, but it absorbs beautifully and leaves a comfortable finish on the skin. Similar to the Cerave cleanser, I started using this again when my skin was over-irritated, but I’ve used it every single day since. This essence has been such a game changer for me! With consistent use, my skin has looked and felt so much healthier. I find that my breakouts heal faster and my complexion is glowier. It also mixes so nicely with other products!
24 count / $6.00 USD
I’ve been through so many packs of these, and for good reason - they destroy active breakouts in a matter of hours. You apply the small, flesh-colored patch to a breakout, and at the end of the day, or the next morning, the ‘white’ has come to a head. I love that the breakout is covered and the possibility of the spread of bacteria is eliminated. I always have a pack on hand so that I can eliminate a breakout immediately. These little patches are truly amazing.
As much as I love my high-end skincare, finding and using affordable products that are just as effective, help to balance out both my skin and skincare collection! I hope that some of these recommendations suit your skin and that you love them just as much as I do.
