5 Brilliant Bronzers to Fake Your Way Through Winter

Although snow may be falling and temperatures dropping, we still want to make it look like we’ve been laying on the beach with a pina colada in one hand and a book in the other. These bronzers know what’s up when it comes to faking a tan -- and saving your skin from the sun’s damaging rays -- all winter long.

Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzer

$30 USD / $40 CAD

An OG makeup product if there ever was one. There’s a reason this product is so hyped up. Although it’s nice to glow, sometimes you just want a strictly matte bronzer to truly warm up your complexion. I like how this can be used to sculpt my cheekbones when I’m in the mood for a contour, or it can be used to give my skin a natural-looking tan even when I’ve been cooped inside watching The Office all day.

$38 USD / $46 CAD

This one’s for the major glow-getters. It’s super unique as it includes three strips of different shades of bronzer in the middle of the pan with one strip of highlighter on each side. It works well if you really want to glow all over. If you’re not in the mood to shine, just tap your brush directly in the center and you won’t get nearly as much of the highlighter. I love to travel with this bronzer because it means I don’t have to bring along a separate highlighter. I just dip my Real Techniques setting brush directly in the strip of highlighter and I’m glowing to the gods in no time.

The colder months are notorious for severely drying out skin. That’s why it’s nice to go in with a cream bronzer sometimes to bring back that glow we all know and love. The Milk Makeup Matte Bronzer is an ideal way to naturally warm up your skin without looking orange. I usually swipe the stick directly on my skin and blend with a beauty sponge or a stippling brush for a quick, hassle-free application.
