Daxia's Current Favorites
I may have a few shelves packed full of products, but there will always be a specific few that I reach for first. I love constantly trying out new products, so my favorites are often on rotation! Here are the top five products that I’m loving right now.
This in-shower body oil has completely changed how I do the whole showering process. First of all, I always struggled finding a body soap that didn’t leave me with a waxy, dry feeling after rinsing off. Secondly, I am not the biggest fan of body lotions because many of them leave me feeling greasy as if the product hasn’t sunken in. Cleansing my body with this oil solves both of my problems with a huge plus of it’s amazing Maracujá scent! After cleansing I put this all over so that the dry, waxy feeling is gone. Because it’s an oil, the water doesn’t completely wash it off which allows me to skip the lotion step and get on with my day. I made the switch to body oils because I find that it softens and moisturizes my skin more than any lotion ever did. My skin also absorbs it much faster than a thicker cream consistency!
When I first opened the jar of Joanna Vargas’ Daily Hydrating Cream, I was a bit skeptical about whether or not it would work for me as a daytime moisturizer. I struggled for a bit with pilling (due to layering oil based products with water based products incorrectly) but kept using it until I could figure out how to make it work for me. It has a very thick consistency which is something I look for in nighttime moisturizers. After lots of testing I decided that it worked perfectly in my night routine after applying any facial oils. It solved my problem of waking up with dry patches, especially during colder months. I am absolutely dreading the time when I run out!
Le Labo may be known for their fragrances, but the first product of theirs that I tried was their lip balm. Partly because I think it’s the cheapest thing they sell (besides samples) haha! After trying Glossier’s Cherry Balm Dot Com I discovered that thicker lip balms work best to keep my lips from drying out. I did like Glossier’s balm, but the cherry scent was not my favorite aspect of it. Le Labo’s balm really reminded me of Glossier’s but without the added fragrance and less of a sticky feeling on my lips. I now use Le Labo’s lip balm every day after brushing my teeth in the morning, during the day and before bed.
Dr. Jart’s Cicapair Color Correcting Treatment is most definitely a holy grail product for me! Since quitting foundation I was looking for something to cover up redness, even out my skin tone and still feel lightweight like a moisturizer. At first I thought that this product was more like a skincare product, however it is actually closer to a makeup product or a tinted moisturizer. Cicapair has allowed me to go foundation free for months and my skin is definitely loving it. An added plus is that it has SPF in it!
Lastly, Aesop’s hand balm is something that I was seeing absolutely everywhere on Instagram. It seems like everybody swears by it! I decided to go pick up a tube for myself since my hands were beginning to feel dry from the cold weather. What I love about it the most is that it doesn’t leave my hands feeling greasy. Other hand creams require me to rub in the product for a good five minutes. Aesop’s is quick and easy, smells lovely and seems like it’ll last forever even if you use it multiple times per day.
