Double Cleansing Favorites

Ok, so if you’ve ever visited my Instagram page, @go_withthe_glow, you’d know I’m a big advocate of double cleaning. Double cleansing? You mean like washing your face TWICE? YES! TWICE and at times, 3 times! You may ask yourself, why is that so important? What’s the big deal? Well let’s put it this way. Picture your skin. Your full face of make up sitting on top of your skin. In your pores. So you really think a swipe of makeup remover will do the trick? Didn’t think so. The idea of dirt, makeup and grime still making themselves at home in the depths of my pores isn’t something I want to go to sleep dreaming about. My favorite way to start my cleaning routine is with an oil or balm cleanser to really break down all of the makeup and dirt followed by a low pH gentle cleaner to ensure my face is fully clean so here are some ride or dies.

Balms/Oils

Farmacy Green Clean Meltaway Cleansing Balm

Throughout the years, I’ve tried MULTIPLE cleansing balms and oils but never really fell in love with them, not until the Green Clean came along. Often, I’ve found balms that were so heavy. I had to work them into my skin and it felt as though I was putting my face through a car wash. Enter Green Clean. This is such a light and smooth formula that melts easily and leaves the skin feeling soft and supple.

Jordan Samuel Skin The After show Balm Cleanser

This is the newest addition to my collection but it has quickly become one of my favorites. It only contains 7, YES 7, ingredients. Formulated with Olive Oil and olive based squalene, this balm melts into the skin quickly and easily leaving no trace or dirt or makeup.

Biossance Squalane + Antioxidant Cleansing Oil

This is not a balm but, it is formulated with 100% plant-derived squalene and it’s fantastic at removing dirt and makeup from the skin. It’s gentle and doesn’t sting the eyes nor does it leave the skin feeling greasy. This bottle will last forever because a little goes a long way.

Second Cleanse

  Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser

Now if you know me or follow my Instagram, you’d already know this is my favorite gentle cleanser. Why? Because the low pH, gentle cleanser does the job without stripping your skin. Not only is it fantastic as a second cleanse, it’s brilliant as a morning cleanse. The rose water really hydrates this skin. This doesn’t disappoint.

Youth To The People Age Prevention Superfood Cleanser

This cleanser is a rock star and truly a stand out product. Packed with antioxidant and vitamin rich kale, spinach and green tea, this is my go to cleanser when my skin needs some TLC. This vegan friendly cleanser really gets the job done. It’s great for all skin type and doesn’t feel the skin stripped.

Clarisonic Mia 2

Now I know this isn’t a cleanser, but I do think it’s a tool that everyone should have in their bathroom. This is a 2 speed cleansing brush that aids in the removal of makeup, dirt and oil. You can purchase a brush head that suites your needs (I personally love the Radiance) and you can use in with the cleanser of your choosing. Nothing will cleanse your skin like a Clarisonic can. Another reason why I love this product is because it’s timed. It ensures that I’m cleansing my skin for the proper amount of time and getting those pores clear.

Jordan Samuel The After Show Treatment Cleanser

You’ll probably recognize this cleanser because it’s literally all over the gram! I was so hesitant on purchasing this particular cleanser because, what if the hype wasn’t real? What if I get sucked in, yet again, to another Instagram product that just wasn’t worth it? Well, true to form, I pulled the plug and purchased almost the whole line and boy, THIS DOES NOT DISAPPOINT! Olive, jojoba, and grape seed oils help remove dirt from the skin and help breakdown any residual makeup. This leaves the skin feeling clean, hydrated and my favorite? Glowing!

There are so many products on the market to choose from. We all have different skin and different needs but my only point is, make sure your skin is fully cleansed. You don’t want that dirt and oil to sit in your pores which can ultimately cause bigger problems such as congested skin or active breakouts. Do yourself and your skin a favor and double cleanse.
