Briana's Exfoliating Picks

Exfoliants have always been a product that make me nervous. My skin is sensitive, and something too strong will often induce a pretty negative - and painful - reaction. Anything too weak and I’ll give up on using it because I’m just not seeing results. Exfoliate too much, and my skin is oilier than ever. So the solution? These three products that do wonders when it comes to exfoliating and real results, without the raw, red, angry skin:

Drunk Elephant TLC Sukari Babyfacial

$80 usd

This product has been all over Instagram lately, and with good reason. Inside that picture-perfect pink and white packaging is a seriously strong, but not irritating, exfoliating mask. Some people claim to see instant results, but for me it took about 3 or 4 uses before I started to see real changes like fading acne scars. The wait was worth it. I have super sensitive skin, and while this does tingle/burn a bit while it’s on, it never leaves my face red or bothered at all.

Sunday Riley Good Genes

$135 USD

A holy grail product for so many people, this exfoliant is gentle enough to be used a few times a week at least. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t pack a punch with that lactic acid component. I use this whenever I develop any odd texture issues or just need a little boost in clarity. In my mind, it works best in conjunction with the brand’s Luna Sleeping Night Oil, but honestly it does just fine on its own.

Sonage Patagonia Berry Stem Cell Mask

$48 USD

This is a newcomer on my top shelf. It’s a lovely shade of purple and smells somewhat like fruity candy, but don’t let that distract you. I think of this mask as a little instant refresh. It’s not gonna slough all of your skin off of your face, but it does gently exfoliate and encourage cell turnover, so that you quite literally look brand new. Plus it’s packed with antioxidants to help to repair damage, reduce fine lines, and hydrate - in other words, it’s a serious multi-tasker.

As always, I highly recommend you follow these up with a moisturizer, preferably one that is gentle and super hydrating. Have a great week everyone!
