Quick and Easy Fall Makeup
If you’re anything like me, you’ve been counting down the days until fall since it ended last year. Don’t get me wrong, I like summer (it’s hard to argue with warm, sunny weather and fun filled summer nights), but there is just something about fall that has my heart. One of those things being fun, fall makeup!
I’m a big fan of makeup (obvs, since I’m writing this), but I also really like my sleep. I try to keep things quick an easy in the morning, so that I can hit my snooze button for an hour before finally dragging myself out of bed. Here are my tops picks for a quick and easy makeup routine for fall!
I always start with a primer/moisturizer, my current favorite is the Glossier Priming Moisturizer. It gives just the right amount of hydration and preps the face perfectly for foundation. If I have extra time, I love adding some sort of liquid highlight to the high points of my face (sometimes all over if I want to be extra with my glow). One I’ve been loving lately is the MAC Strobe Cream. Once all that is on my face, I go in with my favorite foundation combo of the moment; Glossier’s Perfecting Skin Tint mixed with a tiny amount of L’Oréal Pro-Glow foundation. This gives the gorgeous coverage, it looks like your skin but better. I then quickly conceal my under eyes with the Kat Von D Lock-It Concealer. I love this product because it has a peachy undertone which is great for color correcting my dark circles. To finish the skin, I apply a generous amount of Glossier’s Wowder, a little bit of Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer to warm up the face, and swipe some blush on my cheeks (whatever I’m feeling that day, but usually one from my Morphe Blush Palette, which is really great!). Skin, done!
I keep the rest of the face pretty simple, spending a little extra time on my brows because they really just complete your whole look and make you look like you tried harder than you did. I’m obsessed with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer to shape and fill in any sparse areas. I then set in them place with a new fave of mine, the Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Brows Brow Gel. I didn’t think I would like this product, but it keeps my brows in place better than anything else, without making them feel crispy. For the rest of the eyes, I take a fluffy blending brush and work some bronzer (or any cool toned brown eyeshadow) into my crease and all over my lid and call it good. Another great way to make it look like put effort into getting ready. My two favorite products for this are Benefit’s Hoola Matte Bronzer and Burberry’s Light Glow Blush in Dark Earthy No.11.
Lastly – lips! This is where I like to get creative, since the rest of the look is pretty simple. I have a ridiculous amount of lip products, so I try to rotate something new in everyday! A new lip product that I love that’s great for everyday is the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Lip Luminizer. It’s a gorgeous universal shade and is the most long lasting gloss that I’ve ever tried. Another great option is any flavor of Glossier’s Balm Dotcom. All of mine live in my purse so it’s easy to rotate them in when I forgot to put a lip on (which happens way more than I care to admit!).
