Top 7 French Beauty Products

In the beauty world, there is no doubt that French Beauty reigns supreme. French Pharmacy (or Drugstore in the States) has been the go-to beauty destination for bloggers, actresses,  makeup artists, and models alike for year, keeping them as hidden gems in their bathrooms and beauty arsenals. Thanks to the ever-growing popularity of French beauty, more French Pharmacy brands and products are becoming widely available in the United States, but you’ll have to do some hunting.

Bioderma Micellar Water

Bioderma’s Micellar Water has a huge cult following in the beauty world. It removes all traces of makeup, SPF, and impurities, while being super gentle to the skin’s surface. The Micellar Water comes in 3 types, for different skin concerns: Sensibo for Sensitive Skin, Hydrabio for Dry/Dehydrated Skin (my personal fave), and Sebium for Combination/Oily Skin. In the US, you can find most of the range sold at Beautylish.

 Biafine Emulsion

From sunburns to scrapes, bruises, skin irritations/redness, dryness, acne…there’s nothing that Biafine can’t heal or fix! A very basic, thick white cream that can be applied to any part of the body (or all over).non-irritating with practically no fragrance. Sun-lovers, this will be your new fave After-Sun product.

Collosol Eau De Lait (Water Milk Cleanser)

While doing French Skincare research, I stumbled upon this gentle,velvety-soft Cleansing Milk from Collosol a few months back. It’s starting to make waves now more than ever in the US and within the skincare community. It’s a super gentle, liquid-y Cleansing Milk that’s used best as a morning cleanse, makeup-remover, or poured into a bath!

Jaldes OxelioTopique

This is probably the most unique one from the list, and not so much talked about. This is an orange, oil-serum that is packed full of yummy Vitamins and Antioxidants (Vitamin E, C, Carotenoids from Tomato & Carrot) that help the skin fight off the effects of sun exposure. It can be applied day or night within your skincare routine (before moisturizer), on hands, and/or neck. It leaves the skin hydrated and brightened. Oily skin types, don’t fret! This oil-serum won’t make you look or feel more oily. This sinks into the skin beautifully and works well under makeup.

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse

It would be a sin to not include Nuxe’s infamous Huile Prodigieuse Dry Oil in a Top French Pharmacy list. Mixed with oils such as Macadamia, Hazelnut, and Camellia (to name a few) this dry nourishes and softens the skin and hair with a satiny finish. With a non-greasy feel, and a scent that calms and invigorates the senses, it's no wonder why it’s France’s best selling beauty oil. Unfortunately as this article goes up, Nuxe has pulled out of selling their beauty range in the US, but you can still find it on overseas, online retailers that ship to the US.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Sunscreen

When it comes to French Pharmacy Sunscreen, La Roche-Posay reigns supreme. Coming in different textures & types (Chemical or Mineral), anyone will be able to find the proper sunscreen suited for their skin type within the Anthelios range. My personal favorite is the Ultra Light SPF 60. It’s super light in texture without making the skin feel oily.

Avene Eau Thermale (Thermal Spring Water)

Not every Water-In-A-Can is created equally. Avene’s in particular stands out from the rest because of its soothing and softening properties that work for even the most sensitive of skin types. It calms down and soothes redness, irritation and is great at removing cleansers (as opposed to using the harsh water from your bathroom sink). It makes your skincare ritual luxurious without the high price tag, and according to Avene’s website, “One is sold every TWO seconds, worldwide”!
