How to Get Glass Skin

“Glass skin” is a skincare trend that started in Korea basically means your skin is so luminous and translucent that it looks like glass. Having glass skin means your skin is nice and clear, the texture is smooth, and just has a health luminous glow, almost like glass. To achieve the glass skin look, it’s really about finding the right products that give you the perfect amount of moisture that gives your skin a glowy and dewy finish, without looking oily. Here are the steps I take to achieve my glass skin:

Yep, you guessed it. First step is always cleansing to get all the dirt off! Cleanse your face with lukewarm water and find a gentle cleanser that doesn’t dry out your skin.My all-time favorite cleanser is the Soy Face Cleanser from Fresh ($38) and it’s a cult-favorite for a reason. Also, regular exfoliation is crucial since you need to make sure your skin remains smooth. I’ve been using this black sugar mask wash off($10) for years now and I cannot find another one that is as effective for this price! The black sugar grains in this mask dissolves into your skin and removes any dead skin cells.

This is where my “7-skin method” comes in. The “7-skin method” essentially means using a toner (known as “skin” in Korea) 7 times in a row to give your skin the maximum hydration. I choose a hydrating toner with a texture that has a little bit of a bouncy texture and usually go layer it 2-3 times and it’s enough for me. My two favorites are the Laneige Skin Toner ($28) as well as the HadaLabo lotion ($11).

This is optional but I just love the feeling of having something sprayed over my face after all my layering. Try Avene’s Thermal Spring Water ($14) or if you want more of a glowy finish, opt for Tatcha’s Luminous Dewy Skin Mist $48). It’s a hefty price tag but I swear by this product.

Opt for a serum that has brightening effects to give a good base for a dewy look. One of my all-time favorites that is also so affordable is the White Seed Brightening Serum from the Faceshop ($18) and it immediately gives a boost of radiance and brightness. Another cult favorite is Caudalie’s Vinoperfect Radiance Serum ($79) that although on the pricier end, really works well under makeup for a flawless looking skin.

Even after that layering, it’s best to moisturize to wrap it all off. My current favorite is Belif’s Aqua Bomb ($38). This has a gel-like texture and is the perfect base for a dewy makeup look. It’s great for oily skin as well. Another great product for all skin types is the Laneige moisture cream ($35) and I’ve literally been using this for the last 5 years and can’t get enough of it.

I wanted to add this as an extra. I use this before applying my makeup to set the perfect smooth canvas. My favorite is Dior’s DreamSkin from their Capture line. It blurs pores, perfects your skin’s texture, and leaves your skin with a healthy fresh glow. It promises that instant perfection before you apply your makeup.
