Ava's Picks for Glowy Skin
I don’t know where you guys are but I’m here loving but also suffering from this 95-degree heat wave in NYC. I’ve put together a list of products you need to add to your vanity this summer to have that sun-kissed, dewy skin and silky.
($18 for mini)
I carry this beauty elixir in a mini size everywhere I go. Like, everywhere. This has an herbal medicinal scent that instantly gives your face a little pick-me-up but also extremely soothing. Spray it on while you’re out in the sun, after you’ve been in the sun, or when your skin’s feeling a little dry indoors. Packed with essential oils, it’s the perfect product to mist your way through summer.
Use this after a day out in the sun. One jar goes a long way and you won’t regret buying this. It’s made of cucumber extract, aloe vera, chamomile, and papaya extract that really works to soothe and hydrate your skin. Pro tip: leave this in the fridge for an extra cooling effect.
This gives the subtlest yet beautiful highlight. I’m all about highlighters in the summer to give me a natural glowy look. I don’t like things that are too shimmery or give an obvious highlight so stayed away from the so-called “luminizers” until I met this RMS one. It’s very multi-purpose – apply it on above your cheekbones, above your brows, your nose and cupid’s bow. You just instantly look more alive but also looks like you put in zero effort.
I got this solely for the packaging at first. I mean, how can you not?! It’s so pretty that every time I use it, I am so careful.I have this in shade Devotion, which is for people with fair to light skin. If you’re looking for a highlighter that will give you the most luminous glow, this isn’t for you. But if you are looking for a dewy, natural glow, this is for you! Pro tip: apply this over a cream like the Son & Park Beauty Filter Cream and you will look DIVINE
For those of you who go to CVS to get your aloe gels, you’re doing it wrong. You gotta get your hands on this aloe essence from Nature Republic. It’s made of 80% aloe vera leaf extracts, hyaluronic acid (an extremely hydrating ingredient that can penetrate the skin’s surface), and other leaf extracts that not only helps with sun burns and redness, but also helps reduce dark spots. My biggest complaint with aloe gels are that it’s sticky and never seems to absorb fully into my skin. But this is a game changer. As one of the best selling products in Korea, it’s not tacky and instead, just feels like a soft moisturizing cream.
This cream literally takes you on a vacation and makes you feel like a Brazilian babe. This is the cream that I never knew I needed until I used it. made with acai, butter, and coconut oil, this cream really firms up your skin and makes you just want to get in a bikini and head to the beach. Best part? The smell lingers throughout the day. One of the longest lasting smells I’ve seen for a body cream.
