Review: Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balm

I know the Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balm has been mentioned on Pur Opulence a few times, but after testing it recently I felt like it deserved its own solo review. I moved on to this cleanser after trying an oil cleanser for the first time and falling in love with the results but wanting an easier way to apply. I was looking for something with clean ingredients, something that wouldn’t irritate my eyes when removing mascara, and something that was easy to both apply and remove. Green Clean did not disappoint.

The ingredients of Green Clean are sort of the essentials of what I tend to look for in products anyway. Farmacy’s patented Echinacea Purpurea (GreenEnvy) boasts antioxidants to help even out your complexion. Moringa tree extract helps to purify the skin - particularly helpful if you live in a polluted area. Papaya extract is a natural exfoliator. And the actual cleansing oils are Sunflower and Ginger Root. All around, I really have no complaints about these. As someone who lives and works in and near a city, I’ll take all the pollution fighting products I can get.

One of the major problems I had with other oil cleansers was that when removing mascara with them, my eyes would often burn and get generally irritated. I loved how easily they took off waterproof mascara, but not my red and angry eyes afterwards. I don’t have that problem with Green Clean. The texture feels slightly thicker, so it doesn’t drip or run into my eyes when removing makeup. This is a major, major plus.

Last, but definitely not least, I am super picky about how easy products are to apply and remove. Oil cleansers slipped right through my fingers, and sometimes left an annoying residue. The solid balm texture of Green Clean melts and gets perfectly silky on the skin without getting everywhere. It’s best removed with a warm, wet cloth (may I suggest Crude’s Pull Cloths for super gentle removal) which gets it all off easily.

Overall, I think this is an amazing cleanser and an awesome choice for anyone looking for a balm cleanser!

The Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balm is available at Sephora and is sold for $34 USD and $44 CAD
