Briana's Favorites: Natural Makeup

As I’ve transitioned my beauty routine to include more natural (or non-toxic) products, I’ve been pleasantly surprised at how easy it has been to find cleaner alternatives for my favorite makeup products. For a long time, I thought that natural products were always going to be less effective than the average product, and I think a lot of people think the same way. The truth is, there are some incredible clean brands out there making some truly great makeup. Here are a few of my favorite discoveries so far:

Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Repair CC Cream

If you’re looking for a glowy, light base for your makeup, I highly recommend this product. The somewhat thick cream applies like a dream, blends easily, and leaves you with a dewy face that will last all day long. It’s light coverage, so some concealer may be needed with it, but with sun protection including SPF 30 and antioxidants, plus anti-aging and texture-improving benefits, this CC cream pretty much does it all. If you’re sensitive to smells, this does have a fairly strong fruity smell fresh out of the tube, but it fades pretty quickly.

RMS Signature Set

This travel-friendly palette packs a punch with 5 lip and cheek essentials compact enough to slip in your pocket. RMS Beauty has become a big name recently and it’s easy to see why just based on this on this palette. The Magic Luminizer provides the most natural-looking dewy glow, if you love a highlight but don’t want to go too dramatic. The Master Mixer, Lip2Cheek, and Buriti Bronzer are all perfect for adding some color to your look and are creamy, blendable, and pigmented. Last, but certainly not least, the lip balm is hydrating and smells amazing. If you’re looking to get into natural makeup this is a great little palette to get started with!

ILIA Beauty Pure Eyeliner

This was an unexpected winner for me. I don’t tend to wear eyeliner much and when I do it tends to be a liquid liner cat eye, but this product has changed that for me. I picked it up in ‘Sweet Jane’ which is a soft brown that adds some subtle, warm definition to the eyes. It works as a light daytime look, but can also be built up for a nighttime look. This eyeliner works as well as any pencil liner I’ve tried and as a bonus, doesn’t irritate my sensitive eyes!
