Sleeping on a Slip silk Pillowcase

When it comes to my hair, I’m always looking for products that will make managing my mane an easier task. So when I heard that sleeping on a silk pillowcase could cut down on frizz, I was convinced that I had to buy one.But sleeping on silk pillowcases isn’t just beneficial for your hair, according to Slip, their pillowcases are anti-aging, anti-sleep crease, and anti-bed head. Now that I’m well acquainted with my own Slip Silk pillowcase I’m here to weigh in on those claims.

Controlling the Frizz

The main reason I purchased a silk pillowcase is because I wanted something that would help prevent crazy bed head in the morning. I’m happy to report that sleeping on silk has resulted in less frizz in the mornings. Before I had my silk pillowcase, my hair would always end up getting very tangled at night. Now, I get fewer tangles and I can spend less time on doing my hair in the mornings.

Silk for Smooth Skin

A couple of week ago, I decided to go on vacation and I didn’t pack my silk pillowcase with me. Having slept on a silk pillowcase for so long, I was able to notice the difference between a standard pillowcase and a silk one. In the mornings, I would wake up with creases on my face and sometimes theyeven looked a bit red. Now that I’m back home and I’m sleeping on my silk pillowcase again, I haven’t noticed any red creases on my face in the mornings. Thankfully, I’m not at the age where I have any noticeable wrinkles. Still, I would look to prevent the signs of aging. Fewer creases mean fewer wrinkles, so a silk pillowcase is a win for me!

Final Thoughts

All in all, I’ve been very happy with sleeping on silk and I don’t see myself going back to a cotton pillowcase. Silk pillowcases can be pricy – mine cost $85 USD – but I think it’s worth splurging a bit to know that you’re getting a high quality product. I have washed my pillowcase several times since I bought it, and it still looks good as new!
