Cindy's Sunday Riley Lineup
In recent years Sunday Riley has definitely popped up as one of the skincare brands to try. With their vibrant packaging and fun names, it's hard to resist the entire line. Although their products come with hefty price tags, skincare enthusiasts continue to buy their products because of one simple reason - they work. Luckily the range is carried at Sephora, Cult Beauty, and beyond - giving most of us easy access to the brand. I've splurged on two full size products and have been lucky to pick up some GWP with separate orders.
The first product I ever picked up from Sunday Riley had to be Luna Sleeping Night Oil. About 2 years ago this blue oil swept the beauty community and it was the oil to try. Some claimed it left you looking like a smurf (it doesn't), while others sung high praises. Of course I had to give this night sleeping oil a try. This was my first experience with a retinol oil which is a product meant to improve the appearance of your skin and targets wrinkles, redness, and pore size. It helps give the appearance of plump and younger-looking skin. The oil gets its blue hue from the blue tansy and blue azulene - both which are ingredients that balances redness to help calm and even your skin complexion. As someone that struggles with redness, this is definitely one that fits the bill and actually works.
After financially recovering from my first SR purchase, another oil came onto the scene. That oil was the U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil. This one is a quick-absorbing and medicated dry oil that helps clear congested pores, treat/prevent acne, and smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles for clearer and smoother skin. I don't struggle largely with the above but my boyfriend does, so I ended up picking this one up for him. I do get a bit self-conscious about the pores on my cheeks so I did give this a test run for a few weeks and I noticed such a change in my complexion. In conjunction with Luna, these two oils really helped even out my skin tone, reduce the appearance of my pores, and give me the brightest skin I've had in a while. Regardless of your skin type, this one is perfect for everyone.
Along with the U.F.O. oil came the Martian Mattifying Melting Water-Gel Toner. This one is definitely interesting as it originally comes out of the pump as a gel consistency that turns water. As someone with relatively sensitive skin, I'm very cautious of the toners I use as I don't want anything to dry out or irritate my skin. This one helps to remove oil and tighten pores to reveal clearer and a more matte skin appearance to your skin. With ingredients like bentonite clay to mattify excess oil, marshmallow & green tea to soothe redness, and cucumber & witch hazel to tone and tighten. This one isn't just for those that are acne prone as it really just gives a healthy glow to your skin without the extra shine. The small bottle actually lasts a pretty long while and I can see myself picking up the large size eventually.
Sunday Riley sort of blew up and started releasing a ton of new products and with that they released two moisturizers. I received them as foil sachets and really enjoyed the 2-3 uses I got out of each sachet. When I saw these mini GWP jars available I snagged them up immediately to get a longer trial period. I liked the Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream as it has a cooling effect. It's meant to help with dark spots, dryness, and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I haven't seen much of a difference in lightening the appearance of hyper-pigmentation scars and I don't think this is cutting it for moisture during the winter months. I can see this one being a great option come warmer weather as it's cool and gives a good amount of hydration. This is one I'll probably circle back to once spring and summer come back around.
The one that's really captivated me has to be the C.E.O. C + E antiOXIDANTProtect + Repair Moisturizer. For one, let's just talk about the scent of this one. For a brand that gets a bad rap for the scent of their products (I'm looking at you Good Genes), this moisturizer smells incredible. It's zesty and fresh and reminds me of an orange dream machine - without being nauseatingly sweet. This one has vitamin C as an ingredient which helps to fight aging skin while boosting your skin's radiance. A little definitely goes a long way with this one as I've been using it every single day for the last month and I'm about halfway through this teeny jar. Paired with the oils my skin has been looking great and I've really only been reaching for a teeny bit of concealer to cover up redness in my cheeks which is something I really struggle with.
Overall I really think Sunday Riley is an incredible brand and I'm so excited to see what they continue to bring out! As mentioned, some of the oils and products have a very strong smell (read: odor) that may be difficult for those with sensitive noses to use. I can't recommend enough getting a sample of the product first to see if it's for you. With the price tag, these are definitely hefty skincare investments.
Have you tried anything from Sunday Riley? What's on your list from the brand?
