5 Summer Must-Haves
Summer is here or almost here for some us and that's means extra oily skin, enlarge pores and sweaty skin. Not a great sight that's for sure. I'm here to help you get through this summer with 5 products I swear by.
NATURE REPUBLIC SOOTHING ALOE VERA GEL 92%
$7.20 USD/ $9.55 CAD
If you are trying to get a tan and ends up with sun burns (like me), this product is your savior. The benefits or aloe vera gel is not a secret and this product has a high percentage or aloe vera gel in it which immediately sooth and calm the skin after the beach or just walking in the summer heat. The price is reasonable for 300 ml product and I only need to buy a new on every 6 or 7 months. There are aloe vera gel products with a higher percentage, but I find them stickier, no thank you.
in addition to the amazing benefits I use the Aloe Vera gel as a moisturizer and a primer, 3 in 1.
HERBIVORE BOTANICALS ROSE HIBISCUS FACE MIST
$32 USD/ $40 CAD
I wasn't a fan of mists and I didn't saw them as useful until I tried this one. The Rose Hibiscus mist smells like heaven but doesn't have a strong smell for the sensitive people out there. I always carry the small version of the mist and I use it through the day when I'm sitting all day long in the office with a freezing air conditioner, my skin can get dehydrated and the lightweight mist helps my skin to get the hydration that it's need.
MISSHA NEAR SKIN DUSTLESS DEFENCE SUN BLOCK SPF 50
$15 USD/ $19 CAD
Sunscreen is the most important product for the summer if you want to avoid an early signs of aging. as a longtime fan of Missha's products I was so happy to hear about the new sunscreen. Even thought my skin is on the white side I always have a problem with white cast and I ends up looking like a ghost. The sunscreen is on the thicker side and isn't watery at all, but I prefer it that way. The sunscreen absorbs within a minute and finally I can't see any white cast, a huge plus for every sunscreen. I find some sunscreens for oily skin to be drying but this one gives a nice matte finish without drying my skin.
KLAIRS MIDNIGHT BLUE CALMING CREAM
$24.50 USD/ $32 CAD
We are all about calming this summer. The Calming Cream contains Guaiazulene, a skincalming agent extracted from Camomile oil and gives the cream it’s beautiful blue color. I know the packaging is small, but you only need a small amount in you night routine and a few minutes after you skin is less red, moisturize and good as new.
I think that one of the quickest cream that actually shows results besides the aloe vera gel. Even for my oily skin the cream isn't too heavy and if you want you can even use it as part of your morning skincare routine.
ESTEE LAUDER DOUBLE WEAR FOUNDATION
$43 USD/ $48 CAD
I love my skin care products to give my dewy and glowing skin but I love my makeup to give me matte looking skin because of my very oily skin. The double wear foundations is the best I tried so far because in addition to the matte looks and medium coverage it's oil free, has 42 shades, oil controlling and lightweight. It's just the prefect foundation for the summer even if you have dry skin with the right primer you will love it!
