Naomi Nachmani of Holt Renfrew

Meet Naomi Nachmani, the Coordinator of Brand and Creative Strategy at Holt Renfrew. It's Naomi's job to manage Holt's brand strategy as well as help the brand maintain social responsibility.

Naomi and her team manage H Project, a specialty department which supports culture, craft, and artisans from around the world through marketing, merchandising, and the sale of socially responsible products. From sustainably produced goods, to non-profits and companies that donate proceeds, to artisan cooperatives that support developing communities.

When she's not at Holt, she writes and is the Communications Director for Sophomore Magazine, a Toronto-based feminist fashion magazine for millennials. Sophomore publishes and elevates voices, works, and faces of different genders, sexualities, ethnicities, abilities, and other intersections of identity, through intelligent, engaging long-form content and glossy graphics. It's Naomi's job as Communication Director to assist with marketing and social campaigns, brand and editorial direction, and strategic partnerships.

Having always had an interest in fashion and art as a kid, Naomi studied Fashion Communication at Ryerson University in Toronto and learned the ropes of the fashion industry through the program's hands on approach to teaching.

While still in university, Nachmani completed 400 internship hours at Refinery29 and in New York City. She also was hired as an Editorial Assistant for Clique Media Group's fashion website The Coveteur. She now is a regular contributor for the site.

This year, as Holt Renfrew turns 180, Naomi helped launch Uncrate Canada, celebrating talented Canadian designers and brands that are doing social good both in Canada and abroad.

In the coming years, Naomi hopes to continue working with and for companies that are pushing the envelope in innovation, creativity, and sustainability.
